Potassium sulphate

Categories: ,

FIELD OF APPLICATION
Potassium Sulphate Haifa SOP Bio is used in nutrient solutions for both irrigation and foliar fertilization to supply the plant nutrients potassium and sulphur.
When nitrogen supply needs to be limited, such as during flowering, fruiting and at the end of the growing season, potassium sulphate is an excellent nitrogen-free source of potassium. It also provides valuable sulphur to the crop.

WHY SHOULD I USE POTASSIUM SULFATE SOP BIO
Potassium improves the plant's tolerance to drought, frost, pests and thus increases yields. The ability to control the potassium/nitrogen ratio also provides the conditions for a better quality, shelf life and higher sugar content in the plant.

Sulphur is a component of some amino acids and is therefore crucial to the plant's ability to produce protein. Sulphur is also involved, for example, in fat production and in energy transfer reactions in cells. The sulphur content makes potassium sulphate particularly suitable for crops such as cabbages, onions, sunflowers and others, as they produce sulphur-rich organic compounds as protective substances.

Description of the project

DESCRIPTION
Water-soluble crystalline potassium sulphate, intended for use in nutrient solutions and for foliar fertilization. The product Potassium Sulphate is made from natural minerals by physical extraction and may be used in organic production according to Regulation (EC) No 848/2018. KRAV-approved.

RECOMMENDATION
Drip irrigation: up to 100 kg/1000 l of stock solution with a dilution of 1:100 before watering. Potassium Sulfate Haifa SOP BIO dissolves easily and it is possible to quickly dissolve 100 kg in 1000 liters of water.
We recommend a water analysis of minerals to check that the nutrient solution contains the correct amount of plant nutrients. It is also important to analyze recirculated nutrient solutions to be able to adjust the plant nutrition before the nutrient solution goes back to the crop again.

For foliar application: 3-5 kg/ha in at least 200-400 l water. Test spray first to avoid burns. Always test mix before use with other plant protection or plant nutrition products.
We recommend plant sap analysis to determine the need for which plant nutrients need to be applied as foliar fertilization. The analysis can be repeated at the earliest two weeks after treatment to assess whether the treatment needs to be repeated.

Do not mix potassium sulphate with fertilizers containing calcium, as this will cause precipitation of gypsum (calcium sulphate).

The maximum allowable application rate in terms of heavy metal content or plant nutrient content is: 2000 kg/ha.
