Soil and water analysis for soil producers and the peat industry

LMI globe soil square, soil analysis spurway

Substrates containing peat provide by far the best organic growing substrates for professional cultivation, thanks to their high proportion of air-bearing pores, water-holding capacity and natural freedom from plant pathogens. However, the plant nutrient content and pH are low. Fertilization and liming of peat is therefore necessary for good growing results. This is no easy task, as peat properties vary greatly with, for example, coarseness and degree of humification. Analyses are a good tool for monitoring that the nutrient values in the fertilized and limed peat substrate are correct.
Peat extraction is regulated and analysis of water from the bog runoff may be required. See examples of such analyses under the heading ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSES.

Anläggningspaket AMA
Detta paket är anpassat efter kraven i AMA 2020. Omfattar AL-analys inkl. pH-värde, ledningstal, nitrathalt i AL-extraktet, mullhalt samt siktkurva för
partiklar < 20 mm.
OBS! Jordförbättringsråd är tillval.

Bulk density
Measures the bulk density of a peat soil or soil improver in kg/liter.

Dry matter content
Indicates the dry matter content as a percentage of the sample.

Pesticides
Pesticides can be sampled from soil, compost, manure and water. For more information on different analysis packages and sampling vessels, always contact us before taking the samples.

Laneway

The Spurway analysis (read more) is carefully designed to extract nutrients in a way that closely mimics the ability of roots to take up nutrients from the soil. The calcium content of the peat is reflected in the calcium value. However, this does not mean that there is enough calcium for the plants. For the grower, it is important to always add calcium with the fertilizer to ensure that the plant receives sufficient amounts. Scope: Nitrate nitrogen, ammonium nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulphur, calcium, manganese, boron, iron, sodium and aluminum.

Optional Micro: Copper, zinc, molybdenum

Environmental analysis Peat

Heavy metals in soil or water - find out more about heavy metals in the environment and analysis...

pH of water - pH is a measure of the acidity of water.

Total P in water

Total N in water

Total phosphorus and total nitrogen are parameters indicating pollution. They are used to measure low levels of phosphorus and nitrogen respectively in polluted water.

Suspended solids in water - indicates the amount of particles in water.

Packaging for sampling
Water samples for environmental analysis: Different types of sample bottles are required, depending on the analysis to be performed. Order a bottle from us. Several of these analyses should be analyzed within 24 hours of sampling and must then not be sent, but handed in to us no later than 13.30 on the day the samples were taken. Please contact us for more information.

Submission of samples

Some analyses must be carried out within a short time:

pH, COD-Mn, nitrate and ammonium and suspended solids shall be analyzed within 24 hours.

Phosphate-phosphorus should be submitted immediately to be filtered within 4 hours.

Bacterial analysis must be passed on to another laboratory on the day the sample is taken. We do not accept samples for bacterial analysis by post.

By submitting samples, you agree to the analysis being carried out even if delivery to the laboratory takes more than 24 hours.
