FIELD OF APPLICATION
Ammonium nitrate solution 18% is used in nutrient solutions for plants when they need extra nitrogen, for example in growth stages when vegetative growth needs an extra boost. This can be, for example, at the start of growth in spring or during regrowth after fruit formation such as after blast cutting in strawberries.

DESCRIPTION
Ammonium nitrate solution 18% consists of equal parts of ammonium and nitrate nitrogen in aqueous solution.
RECOMMENDATION
Use as a supplement in nutrient solution in addition to the usual fertilizers. No more than half of the nitrogen should come from ammonium nitrate.
Example: if you want to add 50 mg of nitrogen/l as ammonium nitrate, add 224 ml to 1000 liters of irrigation water. This corresponds to 2.24 liters to 100 liters of stock solution (at a dilution of 1:100).
We recommend a water analysis of minerals to check that the nutrient solution contains the correct amount of plant nutrients. It is also important to analyze recirculated nutrient solutions in order to adjust both plant nutrients and alkalinity before the nutrient solution is returned to the crop.
For foliar fertilization: 0.5-0.75 l/100 l in the spray solution should be without risk of burns.
We recommend plant sap analysis to determine the need for which plant nutrients need to be applied as foliar fertilization. The analysis can be repeated at the earliest two weeks after treatment to assess whether the treatment needs to be repeated.
