Magnofoss is used for nutrient solutions for irrigation and for foliar fertilization. Excellent for drip systems.
Important supplement of phosphorus by foliar fertilization in outdoor crops in spring when the soil is cold.
WHY SHOULD I USE MAGNOFOSS
Magnesium is important for photosynthesis because the chlorophyll molecule contains magnesium. It is also used in enzymes, protein synthesis and cell walls. Phosphorus is an important building block as it is part of cell membranes and DNA. It is also part of the molecule ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is needed for all energy-consuming processes in cells.
As phosphorus is often difficult for the plant to take up through the roots, especially at unfavourable pH values and at low temperatures, foliar fertilization is a good way to apply phosphorus. There are many varieties of phosphorus fertilizers with ammonium, potassium, magnesium or calcium to choose from. Plant sap analysis is a good tool to determine which substance besides phosphorus is most needed by the plant.

Description of the project
DESCRIPTION
Magnofoss is a liquid nutrient consisting of phosphorus, magnesium and nitrate.
pH lowering in nutrient solutions.
RECOMMENDATION
Normal dosage:
Greenhouse 2-3 dl/1000 l nutrient solution. This corresponds to 2-3 liters of Magnofoss per 100 liters of stock solution at a mixing ratio of 1:100 to the nutrient solution.
We recommend a water analysis of minerals to check that the nutrient solution contains the correct amount of plant nutrients. It is also important to analyze recirculated nutrient solutions to be able to adjust both plant nutrition and alkalinity before the nutrient solution goes back to the crop again.
For lowering the pH of nutrient solutions for irrigation:
The dose depends on the alkalinity of the water, i.e. its hydrogen carbonate ion content. Carry out a raw water analysis to determine the alkalinity. 0.17 l Magnofoss neutralizes an alkalinity of 100 mg/l in 1000 l of irrigation water. Remember to leave an alkalinity of 50-100 mg/l in the water to maintain some buffering capacity in the water.
Example: Your water has an alkalinity of 230 mg/l. You want to neutralize 180 mg/l (and keep 50 mg/l). Then you need 0.17 x 180/100 = 0.306 l Magnofoss per 1000 l irrigation water.
Miscible with most fertilizers on the market, except iron products.
Free range 10-25 l/ha. Add wetting agent Ekovett.
We recommend plant sap analysis to determine the need for which plant nutrients need to be applied as foliar fertilization. The analysis can be repeated at the earliest two weeks after treatment to assess whether the treatment needs to be repeated.
